Introduction: : Paint Booth Cleaning, Paint Booth Cleaners, Paint Shop Maintenance

Three factors determine the cleaning practices and the material use in Paint booth cleaning. These are:

(1) type of paint used
(2) spray booth design
(3) spray booth management procedures
GENERAL PAINT SPRAY BOOTH CLEANING PRACTICES:

Components of spray booths that are cleaned on a regular basis include walls/silhouettes, windows, floor grates, floors, conveyors, hoses, robots and related equipment. The frequency of cleaning paint spray booths in a paint shop depends on the rate of paint accumulation and the degree of cleanliness required by the plant.
The Best Practice recommendations are:

• Water-blast the grates weekly.
• Scrape the center track weekly and apply low-VOC barrier coat.
• Change robot covers weekly and spray with tacky coat.
• Limit the use of cleaning solvent to spray tips and bells.
• Rinse walls, windows, silhouettes and hoses with water daily and spray low-VOC tacky coat.
• Assure that spent/waste rags are dry and efficiently reclaimed or properly disposed.
• Reclaim all solvent.
• Optimize booth balance.
• Establish a communications process for engineers, booth managers and booth cleaners.
• Establish booth cleaning schedule.

As mentioned above paint booth coating are an important part of paint booth maintenance. Paint booth coatings are films that cover paint booths before actual painting begins. There are several types of products that can be used, each having its own function and purpose. The primary function of a booth coating is to protect walls from paint overspray. These coatings can also be used to brighten paint booth walls, by using clear or blue grease, or they help in capturing airborne dirt and particles.
